The LEARNING ACROSS AMERICA program is the result of Borough of Manhattan Community College and Cultural Hi-Ways teaming up to help you meet your educational component.  Our goal is simple: to provide you with fun, convenient and reasonably priced learning that takes you beyond the classroom as you travel to the very destinations you choose to study.

Borough of Manhattan Community College

The Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) is part of the City University of New York system and is an accredited post secondary institution.  BMCC offers au pairs like you the opportunity to fulfill your educational requirement with two different programs, allowing you to explore the history, geography, landmarks, arts and customs that characterize North America. You'll learn about fascinating cultures and locales through classroom lectures, films, articles and discussions while improving your English communication skills.

• BMCC’s Learning Local program allows you to attend class locally and then participate in a Cultural Hi-Ways tour to the destination you’re studying. In choosing this option, you have the entire tour weekend to explore the destination.

• BMCC’s Learning Express program allows you to study, explore and earn educational credits all in the same long weekend.

Cultural Hi-Ways

The founder of Cultural Hi-Ways was both a host mom and an au pair counselor before venturing into the travel industry.  Cultural Hi-Ways was a direct result of the desire expressed by her au pairs to venture to cities they'd only heard about.  Since our first tour in 1990 we've successfully hosted thousands of au pairs on journeys to discover some of North America's most popular destinations.

Cultural Hi-Ways is now proud to provide au pairs enrolled in BMCC's Learning Local program with the ability to expand what they learn in the classroom by traveling to the very destinations they've studied.
