Chicago:
Art & Diversity

Chicago is home to people from a wide variety of backgrounds and that diversity is reflected in the city’s lively art scene.  Students will explore Chicago’s unique contributions to art and sculpture both in the classroom and during field trips to the Pilsen neighborhood, Humboldt Park, as well as the DuSable Museum of African American History.

When will this course be offered?

  • Friday, October 25, 2019 thru Sunday, October 27, 2019

What’s the class schedule?

Friday

  • Class begins at 1:00 p.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m. Class will be held on the campus of Loyola University.

  • Learning will take place in the classroom.

Saturday

  • Class begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m.

  • Learning will take place both in the classroom and during field trips around the city with your teacher.

Sunday

  • Class begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 2:00 p.m.

  • Learning will take place in the classroom.

Important: Students will receive a pre-assignment as well as a post-assignment.  The pre-assignment will be sent to students one week before the start of class.  Students will complete the post – or final – assignment once the classroom portion of the course ends.

How much is tuition and what does it include?

The tuition price is $339 and includes the following:

  • a public transportation pass to get around Chicago with your teacher

  • all costs associated with the class (there are no additional material or activity fees!)

Please note that neither the cost of airfare to/from Chicago nor accommodations are included.

How many credit hours will I earn?

Upon successful completion of the course you’ll earn 36 credit hours.

How soon will I receive my educational certificate?
Students will receive a pre-assignment as well as a post assignment.  Students will complete the post – or final – assignment once the classroom portion of their course ends.  Once a student satisfactorily completes their post assignment, they’ll receive their educational certificate via email 10 days after the final class session.

Students who require their certificate sooner than outlined above should request their final assignment in advance by contacting BMCC.  Please note that BMCC needs two days from the date a student submits their final assignment to issue an educational certificate to them.
