It all started with a simple idea — and a love of travel.

Before creating Learning Across America, our founder was both a host mom and an au pair counselor. She listened as countless au pairs told her they wanted to visit the famous cities they’d only seen in movies or heard about from friends. So, in 1990, she launched Cultural Hi-Ways, creating travel adventures that brought au pairs together to explore some of North America’s most exciting places — and make unforgettable memories along the way.

Over time, more and more au pairs asked, “Can I travel and earn my educational credits at the same time?” And that’s how Learning Across America was born.

Today, Learning Across America offers fun, budget-friendly classes that take you beyond the classroom. You’ll learn about your destination — and then explore it for real. It's learning you can experience with your own eyes and camera roll.
