Self-Paced Online
Your journey begins with a flexible, self-paced online module available starting in August. Complete the activities and shared assignments at your own pace, whenever they fit your schedule.
Complete the online portion before your trip so you’ll have more free time to enjoy Los Angeles!

Meet your teacher and classmates, review the weekend plan and get answers to your travel and course questions.
Welcome to Los Angeles
Meet your group in Santa Monica, begin the course together and enjoy the included welcome dinner and a mindful introduction to the weekend.
Venice Beach + Malibu
Explore the coast through mindful photography and shared activities, with a wellness hike in Malibu, weather permitting.
Iconic Los Angeles
See Hollywood, Beverly Hills and other celebrated Los Angeles sights on an included guided tour while continuing your wellness and reflection activities.
Yoga, Reflection + Course Wrap-Up
Begin with morning yoga, weather permitting, then reflect on what you’ve learned and complete the in-person portion of your Los Angeles experience.

Tuition Details
Use Your Host Family Education Contribution
- Most au pairs receive up to $500 from their host families to use toward their education requirement.
- Many students choose to apply this contribution toward this course.
The tuition price does not include the following:
- airfare to/from Los Angeles
- meals, other than those listed
Earn Your Towson University Certificate
Once you successfully complete the course, you’ll earn 6 credits / 72 credit hours.
Your Certificate of Completion will be issued by Towson University, an accredited post-secondary institution, typically within 10 days after all course requirements have been completed.
You’ll have up to three weeks after the course to complete and submit your post-course assignment. You don’t need to wait the full three weeks — the sooner you submit it, the sooner we can begin processing your certificate.
Cancellation & Transfer Policies
We understand that plans sometimes change. Your refund, course-credit or transfer options depend on how far in advance you make the change.

If You Cancel Your Course Enrollment
- 46 or more days before the course: Full refund.
- 45–32 days before the course: Full refund less a $135 nonrefundable accommodation fee.
- 31 days or fewer before the course: No refund.
Transfers
Move Your Enrollment to Another Learning Across America Course
You may transfer your enrollment to another Learning Across America course, subject to availability and any difference in tuition.
- 46 or more days before the course: Your full payment may be applied to another course.
- 45–32 days before the course: Your payment, less the $135 nonrefundable accommodation fee, may be applied to another course.
- 31 days or fewer before the course: No transfer credit is available.
Transfer Your Place to Another Au Pair
You may transfer your reservation to another eligible au pair at no charge up to 3 days before the course begins, provided we receive the new participant’s information in time to complete enrollment.
