Experience Wellness at Sea
Living in a new country and caring for children can be exciting, rewarding and busy — sometimes all at once. This experience gives you a chance to step away from your everyday routine, enjoy time for yourself and explore simple ways to feel more balanced and refreshed.
As you travel, you’ll use mindfulness, photography and the experience of being somewhere new to become more present, notice the world around you and reconnect with yourself. Along the way, you’ll share the experience with other au pairs who understand many of the same challenges and adventures of life in the United States.

Your tuition includes memorable Miami & The Bahamas experiences — plus everything you need to complete all 6 credits.
Two nights at Freehand Miami in a four-bedded room, with your own bunk bed.
Three nights in a twin inside cabin aboard the MSC Seaside.
All meals aboard ship, ship taxes and mandatory ship gratuities.
Welcome dinner, Everglades airboat ride and nature walk, Wynwood neighborhood and Wynwood Walls.
A full day in Nassau and a full day at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve.
A $20 cash contribution toward food while in Miami.
All transportation, as needed, while you’re with your group leader.

Self-Paced Online
Your journey begins with a flexible, self-paced online module available starting in November. Complete the activities and shared assignments at your own pace, whenever they fit your schedule.
Completing the online portion before your trip gives you more free time to enjoy Miami and The Bahamas.

Meet your teacher and classmates, review the cruise and course plans and get answers to your travel questions.
Welcome to Miami
Meet your teacher and classmates at Freehand Miami, enjoy a welcome dinner and begin exploring Miami Beach and Ocean Drive.
Everglades National Park
Travel to Everglades National Park for an airboat ride and nature walk while exploring the relationship between nature, travel and well-being.
Wynwood and Cruise Departure
Visit the Wynwood neighborhood and Wynwood Walls, then depart from the Port of Miami aboard the MSC Seaside. Join your teacher and classmates for dinner aboard ship.
Nassau, The Bahamas
Spend the day in Nassau and use wellness travel and mindful photography practices as you explore.
Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve
Enjoy a full day at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve and reflect on how nature, travel and mindfulness support well-being.
Return to Miami
Enjoy breakfast before disembarking. MSC recommends that guests not schedule air or train travel to depart before 1:30 p.m.

Tuition Details
Use Your Host Family Education Contribution
Most au pairs receive up to $500 from their host families to use toward their education requirement.
- Many students choose to apply this contribution toward this course.
The tuition price does not include the following:
- Airfare to/from Miami
- Transportation from the airport or from the ship at the end of the cruise
Accommodations
- At Freehand Miami, each student has a bunk bed in a four-bedded room. Rooms may include both female and male au pairs.
- Aboard ship, each student has their own bed in a twin inside cabin.

Earn Your Towson University Certificate
Once you successfully complete the course, you’ll earn 6 credits / 72 credit hours.
Your Certificate of Completion will be issued by Towson University, an accredited post-secondary institution, typically within 10 days after all course requirements have been completed.
You’ll have up to three weeks after the course to complete and submit your post-course assignment. The sooner you submit it, the sooner we can begin processing your certificate.
International Travel Requirements
Required Travel Documents
Each cruise passenger is solely responsible for identifying and obtaining every travel document required for the entire cruise vacation and for having those documents available when needed. Guests without proper travel documentation will be denied boarding, and no refund will be provided.
Review the list of countries whose citizens require a visa to enter The Bahamas.
Second-Year Au Pairs and International Travel
Au pairs in their extension term may be eligible to travel to The Bahamas under the federal automatic-revalidation provision when the trip does not exceed 30 days and they have not applied for another visa. Final admission into the United States with an expired visa is determined by immigration officials at the port of entry.
Contact your au pair agency before enrolling to confirm that you are eligible for this international trip.
Cancellation & Transfer Policies
Because this course includes prepaid cruise arrangements, its cancellation policy differs from our standard course policy.
If You Cancel
If You Cancel
- On or before Monday, November 2: Full refund.
- Between Tuesday, November 3, and Tuesday, December 22: You will forfeit $405.
- After Tuesday, December 22: No refund or course credit is available.
Transfers
Due to the nature of this course, transfers to another course are not permitted.
